Facebook is a very popular social medium and needs little introduction.  The Brigantine Police Department has established a facebook page.  You can “like” the page to receive updates which includes emergency notifications, traffic advisories, items of community interests, press releases, and information on wanted persons.  If you do not have a facebook account, you can sign up for free at www.facebook.com

Twitter is also a social medium that needs little introduction.  The Lake Charles Police Department has established a twitter account under the name of “@Brigantine PD”.  We have been posting traffic advisories and emergency notifications to this account in conjunction with the Nixle Notification Service.  If you have a twitter account, you can follow @BigantinePD.  If you do not have a twitter account, you can sign up for a free account at www.twitter.com.

Nixle is an emergency text message, email, and web notification system that Brigantine Police Department utilizes.  Signup is also free at www.nixle.com.  Alternatively you can text “bpd” to 08203 to begin receiving text message updates directly to your cellular phone immediately.
